Lafayette Middle School's reading team, THE CLIFFHANGERS, won 1st Place Middle School Division on Tuesday, March 11 at the Westmoreland Interscholastic Reading Competition held at Seton Hill College. The students worked as a team to answer questions within 30 seconds on the 30 required books competing against 36 teams. The team won all four competition rounds earning yellow, blue, purple, and green ribbons. Pictured are Coach Kimberly Bizik, Parker Phillips, Nizhoni Dragon, Eleanor Prosser. Parker Phillips, a seventh-grade student from Lafayette School, placed first at the Pennsylvania state competition of Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science at Penn State University.
